Greetings,
Seeking Truth and Deliverance
“Save me, Lord, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues.” — Psalm 120:2
Unpacking Psalm 120:2
Psalm 120:2, “Save me, Lord, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues,” is a heartfelt plea for deliverance from the harm caused by dishonesty and deceit. This verse reflects the psalmist's vulnerability in the face of untruths and their desire for God’s protection and intervention. It provides profound insights into the destructive power of lies and the refuge found in trusting God to uphold truth and justice.
At its core, this verse highlights the damaging impact that lies and deceit can have on an individual. Words have the power to shape perceptions, influence decisions, and affect relationships. When lies are spoken, they undermine trust, sow discord, and create confusion. The psalmist’s plea underscores the distress caused by falsehood, not just because of its personal implications but also because of its broader capacity to corrupt communities and relationships.
The psalmist’s cry to the Lord reveals a recognition of human limitations. In the face of deceit, the individual feels powerless to combat the spread of lies on their own. This acknowledgment of dependence on God is central to the message of the psalm. It reminds readers that ultimate truth and justice belong to God. By turning to Him in prayer, the psalmist expresses faith in God’s ability to protect and restore what deceit has damaged.
This verse also speaks to the ethical commitment of the believer. By asking for deliverance from lying lips and deceitful tongues, the psalmist implicitly commits to upholding truth in their own life. It challenges readers to examine their speech and conduct, ensuring that they reflect integrity and honesty. In a world where deception is often normalized or excused, this verse calls believers to a higher standard, one that honors God as the source of truth.
From a broader perspective, this prayer is also a call for justice. Deceit often thrives in systems where accountability is absent or weak. The psalmist’s cry to God is a recognition of His ultimate authority as a just and righteous judge. It invites believers to trust that God sees all, knows all, and will bring about His perfect justice in His timing. This assurance allows those who suffer from deceit to find peace, even in the midst of false accusations or misunderstandings.
The imagery of “lying lips” and “deceitful tongues” is particularly vivid, emphasizing the tangible harm that words can inflict. Lies can destroy reputations, sever relationships, and create lasting emotional wounds. Yet, this verse offers hope: God is not indifferent to these struggles. He is attentive to the cries of His people and is both willing and able to deliver them.
Psalm 120 is part of the Songs of Ascents, a collection of psalms sung by pilgrims journeying to Jerusalem. In this context, the verse reflects the spiritual journey of the believer, navigating a world filled with sin and seeking God’s presence. The plea for deliverance from deceit can be seen as part of a broader desire to live in alignment with God’s truth, both personally and within the community of faith.
This verse also invites reflection on the power of prayer. By bringing the issue of deceit before God, the psalmist models how believers should respond to challenges. Rather than retaliating against falsehoods or becoming consumed by anger, the psalmist chooses to seek God’s help. This response is not passive; it is an active demonstration of faith in God’s sovereignty and goodness.
In our modern context, this verse remains deeply relevant. In a world saturated with misinformation and manipulation, the cry to be saved from deceit resonates powerfully. Whether it’s in personal relationships, societal narratives, or even within ourselves, the battle for truth is ongoing. Psalm 120:2 reminds us that we are not alone in this struggle. God is our protector and the ultimate source of truth, and we can turn to Him with confidence.
Ultimately, this verse calls believers to trust in God, commit to truth in their own lives, and find peace in His justice. It serves as a reminder that while deceit may cause temporary harm, God’s truth prevails, bringing healing and restoration to those who seek Him.
Closing thoughts as I pray for those reading or hearing this verse today...
In a world often filled with noise, falsehoods, and misleading messages, this verse is a heartfelt cry for protection and truth.
It reminds us that the Lord is our stronghold and guide when navigating through deception.
We can lean on Him to guard our hearts and minds, allowing us to walk in integrity and discernment.
As followers of Jesus, we are called to seek and reflect His truth in our words and actions.
Trust in Him to shield you from deceit and to strengthen your resolve to speak and live righteously.

First Trade of the Day Yields a Full Stop Out LOSS
All right, traders! Today, I’m diving into a straightforward overview of two key trades I executed this morning.
As I prepare to spend a couple of hours with my trading community, analyzing the market to find those prized low-risk, high-probability setups, this post will walk you through the thought process behind today’s actions, including successes and setbacks.
So, let's break it down....
The Morning’s Trade Rundown
The day began with optimism and readiness, scanning the market's behavior across two five-minute charts for insight into potential moves.
The initial trade seemed promising as the market established new highs, showing bullish momentum.
I anticipated that it would hold above a previous resistance level, maintaining strength to target liquidity above.
Unfortunately, that scenario didn't play out, and the first trade ended with a stop-out.
But that's trading! Losses happen—it’s all part of the journey. Understanding and accepting that is crucial for anyone looking to thrive in this field.
Pivoting from Loss to Profit
Following that first setback, I pivoted quickly. Around 6:55 AM, a fresh opportunity emerged as the market showed signs of reversal.
I entered a short position, aiming for the Session VWAP level at 68.25.
This move proved fruitful, allowing me to recover my initial loss and secure additional profit. By then, I was content to call it a day.
Embracing Small Losses and Strategic Gains
Days like today illustrate a powerful lesson for traders: achieving daily goals with minimal pain is a win.
This morning's mixed outcome is a perfect example of the importance of resilience. The first trade may not have worked, but the second compensated for that loss and more.
To some, that may not sound impressive, but remember—success in trading is not just about how many wins you have.
Here’s the golden rule: if your wins outsize your losses, you don’t need a stellar batting average to be profitable.
In fact, with a solid trade plan and adherence to risk management, even a 50% win rate can yield consistent profitability over time.
Why Following Your Trade Plan is Non-Negotiable
If you’ve laid the groundwork by defining a well-thought-out trade plan, tested it rigorously in a simulated environment, and proved it over a meaningful period, sticking to that plan becomes second nature.
When you do this, each trade—win or lose—loses its emotional weight. You start seeing trades as part of a larger statistical framework, not isolated events.
The process is simple: place the trade according to your plan, manage it diligently, and trust the edge you've developed.
Whether a trade ends up profitable or not, the key is knowing you executed it correctly.
The Discipline of Trading Less for More
The allure of trading is strong; the market’s constant movement can pull you in.
For me, today’s profits were more than many earn in an entire week, achieved in the early morning hours.
This isn’t to boast but to emphasize the value of patience and trading only when your setup aligns.
I entered the world of trading to escape the constraints of traditional work, be it owning a business or being employed.
The freedom that trading provides is unparalleled, but it comes with the responsibility of discipline.
Helping Others Succeed in Trading
While I trade for my own financial freedom, teaching and offering resources to others is a passion of mine.
I genuinely believe that with the right mindset and approach, anyone can succeed in trading. The process is tough, but it’s achievable.
Craft a solid plan, prove your strategy in a demo account, and when you're ready, start small.
As confidence grows, leverage can be added to scale profits without extending time spent in front of the screen.
Consistency Over Complexity
Trading can be one of the hardest jobs you’ll ever do, yet it can become routine with discipline. Your focus should be on following your plan meticulously.
The magic happens when placing trades becomes a routine where you are unaffected by wins and losses, as long as you’re adhering to your strategy.
So, traders, my advice is simple: define your plan, execute with precision, and don’t let emotions steer the wheel.
